Ecolabel Day

Pop-up honey shop

EVERYTHING ABOUT HONEYBEES, BIODIVERSITY & CLIMATE PROTECTION

In 2018, KUNST HAUS WIEN became the first museum in Austria to be certified with the Austrian Ecolabel. Friedensreich Hundertwasser designed the seal of approval for the environment and quality 30 years ago. Under this year's motto Active together for biodiversity and climate protection, KUNST HAUS WIEN is setting up a pop-up shop with bee products in the inner courtyard on the occasion of Ecolabel Day on Saturday, 5 June. Two bee colonies live on the roof garden of the museum, and their honey production is particularly stimulated by the great biodiversity of the trees, plants and flowers in the surrounding area.

POP-UP HONEY SHOP

Whether honey for snacking, aromatic candles or high-quality propolis - in our inner courtyard garden, a pop-up entirely dedicated to bees awaits you. The shimmering amber-coloured organic honey comes from the bee colonies on the museum's green roof garden.
Master beekeeper Thomas Zelenka, who looks after these colonies, is personally available to answer any questions you may have on the subject of bees.
