The Belly Knows Before the Brain proposes a change of perspective on digestion and metabolism—towards an ecological practice across species.
The expansive installation is conceived as the belly of the universe, in which digestion becomes spatially, sensorially, and collectively tangible. Planetary digestive organisms, embodied as sculptures, inhabit the space. A compost heap in the courtyard, maturing through the nurturing of visitors, will be started at the exhibition opening.
