Remote

In conjunction with the exhibition Mika Rottenberg. Antimatter Factory, KunstHausWien in collaboration with VHS Wiener Urania presents the feature film REMOTE

Set in a post-pandemic near future, the mysterious discovery of portals connects five women: living in different parts of the world. The film follows Unoaku, an architect living and working in Kuala Lumpur, and four other protagonists from Iran, Argentina, Puerto Rico, and South Africa, as they explore the portals linking their lives and uncover a phenomenon with universe-altering implications. Directed by Mika Rottenberg and Mahyad Tousi, the film addresses themes of isolation, technology, and realism in a “hyperconnected” future. This screening is a rare opportunity to experience Rottenberg’s cinematic work on the big screen.
