The air we breathe is not the same for us all. How does pure air feel like? As part of the exhibition Wenn der Wind weht the Vienna-based collective Dusts Institute stops at the Kunst Haus Wien with their Dusts-free Chambers: a walk-in pop-up installation that is completely free of airborne dusts, pollen, scents and viruses.
The outdoor installation translates data about air pollution into an interactive experience between the observer and the environment. When´one enters the round space with its milky exterior skin, the air is completely purified by special filters within a very short time. We hardly find this air quality in everyday life, if at all. In the context of guided meditations visitors are invited to experience an air-utopia – a dust-free environment.
